We meet with Stacy Lotens (the real name of the singer – Anastasia Sologub)  in winter, but it is unclear for what reasons the interview with her I put off and not published for three months. The young singer looked good: excellent styling, make-up, huge heels – all in the image. I’m even little surprised, thinking that Stacy came to me for an interview right after her another brilliant performance. We went into a cozy cafe in the city center, commissioned americano coffee and began to lead the conversation, which was more like meeting old friends, long invisible to each other, rather than the standard perfomens journalist and stars. What came of it – you can read in one of the first interview with Stacy Lotens specically for KievGlam.

–   Where did you get this nickname Stacy Lotens?

–   Stacy – an international name, short for Anastasia, but generally it’s a long story. Twice I have been with the choir “Zarnitca” in Belgium and I skidded into the family Lotens, they liked me very much and very memorable, so I decided that somehow bind with such pleasant memories of my musical name. When I go up to the international level and will be able to surprise them -  then I tell them, but now they don’t know that I use their surname.

–   Since childhood you sang in the ensemble “Zarnichki” and in the chorus, “Zarnitca” and it was a completely different musical format, now you sing the songs absolutely in another role. How is it happened, that you are so moved away from classical music?

–   It is a classical music will bore in me a love for something new, because the future it also depends on some key points of construction, foundation and this can help me to make a very good backing vocals, without using someone else, and developed in me thinking outside the box. Even the composer Lesya Dychko instilled love for the extraordinary performances of parties, ranging from the violas, very low voices, and finishing the temple soprano. These moments I’m used now in my  modern music, with all details, transitions, slide, half – all that gave me the chorus I’m using now, and without it I would not come to what I have at this moment.

–   What is the definition can be given a genre, in which are singing Stacy Lotens?

–   I’ve been experimenting since 2009 when it came it was my creation, as in rock music and pop music, but now all the same decided that with the advent of a new era, a new century in 2012 to make such a revolution that will surprise for all, because it combines many of the nuances associated with some underground music that plays at private parties (open-air) and that the public perceives to cheer. In my work will progress more electronics, all sorts of unusual sounds, the combination of filing, which I had developed during the last three years, and will slip elements of rock songs that will complement and blend with the electronics, thus creating a new style. In my repertoire is a song like “Magic Love” for example, that it is more quiet, but gives rise to what will happen next, prepares the audience, listening to some unexpected surprises.

–   In what year was released your first single? How was your debut?

–   My first single «No more dirty games» was released in conjunction with Max Ponamarchuk, member of “The hard kiss” group. We started working with him since 2009. We really tastes coincided, and we decided to come up with something that could give rise to something new. In the end we got a song that I had t sent to a radio station in Argentina, it spun for a time in rotation in Buenos Aires, and it came a lot of good reviews. After that we decided that the need to evolve accordinglyin Kiev and our first performance here was in the “Bingo” club. The theme of song, which we presented was with sarcasm. We kill the animals that would warm of theirs skins our body and soul. In this case I did not say: “Don’t kill animals!” The person must think and understand what he was doing.

– In your performances we can see some sexual rage, vulgarity, latex, shoes for strippers. Why, at first glance, a small, defenseless girl decided to use just such unpredictable moments?

–   I am very contradictory person, so admit a certain percentage of vulgarity, while I have a dual meaning of the whole, some what rigid, aggressive, all with a sense of logical and appropriate, no certain audacity, only external moments is a little stress. Submission – yes, a revolutionary, perhaps on this and keeps the whole subject. Soon I will develop new images together with the designer, we will feel every images and work on all elements of the decor and clothing, what would worthy to appear on the public.

–   When you was a child you were a fan of Britney Spears, and many who thought that you were always going to be like her. Why is your image departed from the pop genre?

–   I still have respect for Britney Spears and admire her environment, which is very competently and efficiently doing the music for her, while it is clear that her team is really cool, they create a song and for all next album becoming more underground in music. Ever since childhood I sang her songs, parodying it, and was not such that I can’t to sing at least one of her songs, but now I like to do something difference, combine the music, to create something new. Many people notice that somewhere in some manner of her character involuntarily is in me, they manifest themselves, but do not repeat what we already have.

–   Who is currently involved in your produced?

–     At the moment I am independent. If take a personal project, in which case I see many interesting personalities, such as factorys producer Igor Kuzin. He really understands rock music and I think that he understand the direction in which I work. In addition, I am working on new material and looking for investors who understand the subject and will cooperate with me.

–   Who wrote the song for you?

–   I am writing with my friend, one of the best guitarists in Ukraine, Vitali Lyakin. And the further project in the music industry I also plan to develop with him.

–   At the moment you sing mostly in clubs. Have you thought about the big stage? Have there been any suggestions on this?

–   Basically I have now corporate parties and club performances, but I also hope that when I will have a holistic project, then I’ll be happy to act on the big stage, because there will be other opportunities.

–   When to expect for release of your first album?

–   The album will be released when the single will be released. A single will released from the material which will be introduced in the project “Music of the Future” or “Diamond Age”. This is the age when people started to think nothing of other things that they value the moral qualities of others, they no longer focus on the material, and place greater emphasis on the moral plan, they do not think who they are and why they are here, what their mission, purpose and it will be a coup, a kind of revolution. In my music I’ll show all those human feelings, which will be tested in the new transition. For example, my song “Magic Love” – ​​it conveys the transition itself, that mysticism and psychedelic, the feelings that a person is experiencing. On the one hand it is like a lullaby, and under it you can feel completely relaxed, on the other hand she holds a feminine experience and gives the relationship between opposite sexes.

–   What do you do besides music?

–   I am also interested in art and in fashion. I want to work with good make-up artists, who can pass up the image of those musical nuances that you can listen to sound out. Also I am interested in cinema, because all the video clips, which will be on the topic, will be made with the assistance of talented filmmakers and their crew. Also by myself I am come up with some ideas for commercials, for my stage performances, projects, that will be displayed with a new song. Therefore, all this are interconnected.

–   How you spend your working day?

–   He is at ease. Lately I’ve loved working days, as they are for me as like as a weekend. I’m going to the studio, come up with new songs, embody the ideas that go to my head when I wake up, even in my dreams sometimes I go to think, then I wake up and immediately try to record on tape that was born that had not been forgotten.

–   What your plans for 2012?

–   Definitely my 2012 will be with music. Also in 2012 you must be prepared for new surprises, expect something new, something revolutionary, but, nevertheless, it will be very pleasant surprise, I might even be able to realize that – that the audience in the subconscious, but they for it is not known. The main my plan – to creation the new songs that will not leave anyone indifferent.

Shalini Todi is a head designer in Sailing Souls.  Shalini loves to translate imagination through playful colors into art. Fashion show of hand-painted accessories Shalini Todi will present on 13 April at a Kievglam party.

How did your creative development start?

I dream to become fashion designer from childhood. I am really interesting to know women psychology, I want to understand people. Then I start to learn about colours psychology. It should affect our mind and thought process, because every day we wear some or other tinge. Few months ago my husband inspires me to create my own brand.

What exactly you are doing as designer?

Usually I discuss with the client what he/she wants, then we sit together, I design and then create something. It is very individual. It will never repeat again for any customer. If my clients want to match her dress with shoes, but she/he doesn’t have appropriate accessories for evening outfit- I can colour shoes or decorate this shoes with hand painted motives or with flowers. I always use all the colours and textures. I can match your scarf, your accessories with your outfit. I also make accessories for some events, like wedding, birthdays, anniversaries.

What is the main source for inspiration?

Nature and colours that is always around us. The nature is so creative and when you see landscapes, mountains the inspiration come. Inspiration comes from all kinds of art. Also natural colours inspired me.

How Ukrainian people usually look like?

Ukrainian people know about how to wear and mix styles. Women know how to care themselves. Some people have a good sense of dressing. I noticed that many women in Ukraine love big heels. And I like it!

What is the main idea of your brand?

The idea of this studio is to bring to you designs that you can identify with and wear the art that fits your style

Are you design accessories only for women? And what about men?

My target audience is various: from children to the adult ladies. I start to design only shoes for mans. I think I will do it with pleasure in future. I want to design my own shoes for women and man.

Imagine that I want to decorate my shoes by flowers. Tell me, how you will do it?

First I will meet with you to discuss your idea. I need to know what exactly you want on your shoes. You said you want flowers, it can be hand-painted flowers or you want to be pasted something on shoes. According to your idea and choice I will design it. Some shoes I can execute in few hours, but some I can do 2-3 days. It almost depends on your idea.

The middle price of your work?

I think, that fashion should be available for everyone. It depends of kind of clients and design they want. I want to make accessories according to the budget.

What are your plans for the future?

I want to open my own fashion store with my exclusive  hand-painted accessories. I want to make my own brand shoes. I don’t want to sell shoes in online store because shoes are very individual things. I think that I can sell belts, umbrellas and so on. But shoes should be exclusive.

What do you expect from the upcoming show?

I expect people love my work and i will get new audience. It will be my first fashion show. Ukrainian girls love fashion and I want to enter Ukrainian market.

As part of Volvo Fashion Week in Moscow the designer of brands Ester Abner presented to the audience, critics and connoisseurs of high fashion her debut collection autumn – winter 2012 – 2013. The collection really called a genius, as suits and dresses are made in the original cut, which used traditional fabric outfits completely emphasize individuality, sexuality and irresistible models. And the thing is that the collection sustained in a certain style and has a subtle philosophy. All costumes can be traced image of rider, but the beginning of this whole collection of historical costumes made ​​for riding, which at that time clearly distinguished from the male for its lush skirts, gloves and elegant hats.

Dresses from the collection of Ester Abner decorated embroidery and delicate finish, as you can see the painted cloth, and an amazing amount of silk. All collection from brand Ester Abner presented in a single copy. Not without hats-cylinder, in a sense they resemble a man’s suit and on. Layered skirt suits embellished with lace and ruffles, jackets can be seen on the big, showy buttons, each hat is decorated with a veil, an essential attribute of the collection – women corsets, emphasizing the breasts, which the designer uses both trouser and in the skirt issues.

In the colors of the collection dominated red and black colors, which are also complementary blue, white, brown and many others. It is through the combination of black and white turns to emphasize elegant silhouettes. Well, what about materials, creating the costumes used in silk, wool, velvet and lace. The highlight of the aristocracy in this collection was an integral accessory of races – gloves made ​​of silk. Collection Ester Abner surprisingly pleased and made her debut with a big success. Each of her dresses will certainly want to have in the locker room and immediately go to the horse riding.

In part of Volvo Fashion Week in Moscow, which took place in the Gostinniy Dvor, was incredibly feminine and stylish new collection “Favord …” introduced the designer Dora Blank. Among the fashion trends can be seen represented by the collection of wool cell, combined with a comfortable jersey, finishing organza, velvet cut complex, as well as silk and cotton insert. Age category of dresses from the Dora Blank begins with youthful maximalism and is designed for women over forty, as can be seen a wide range of dresses, suits and other evening wear for women of any age, and this is one of highlights.

The collection was presented the “female” wardrobe classic forms: skirts, dresses, suits, coats, jackets, which can be worn with long and short models. The collection of designer Dora Blank virtually no pants, as she said they were not the subject of the best female clothing, so are replaced by long soft skirts. Small velvet and suede hats, pouches and belts peculiar forms – is the key additions that can be diluted female wardrobe in this season of Dora Blank.

The annual festival ‘French Spring in Ukraine’ opened with an incredibly beautiful show on the Sophia’s square. The action began with the show ‘Mischievous Bells’ performed by the French street theatre Transe Express.

It was the magnificent show which combined theatre, music and lighting. The bells’ tinkling and a witching mastership of the actors ecstasized the audience. Opening of The French Spring in Kiev wasn’t less bright and impressive than in previous years. This festival is organized by the French Embassy in Ukraine. They promised to surprise the audience with an unusual music chime, which, thanks to huge construction, was heard by thousands of people.

The echoes of the chime were spreading around Kiev. Here was the enormous amount of people, so it was hard to move out from the Sophia’s square after the show. In spite of this, organizers fulfilled a promise and the opening of The French Spring in Kiev was breath-taking.Французская весна 4 4 2012.

A new party series  for girls started in Kiev with a delicious sweet party called Lollipop. The organizer -  BLACK PR PARTY, and the ideologist – Marina Dakota, who worked for a long time photographer for such kind of organization. Marina decided to make events for wishing to relax girls. Ideally, these activities will be conducted every 2 weeks. According to Marina, the main goal is to organize easy & fun parties with friendly atmosphere. Freedom of expression is an important part of the philosophy of this organization. Dress code is not necessary, it’s time to relax.

And now more about the start & party. The Roman poet Lucan said: “The Beginning – half of everything.” This aphorism is particularly applicable in the field concerning the organization of something. And, indeed, a good start has convinced me and other people that  you can come to these parties to have fun. When you go to the  new event you instinctively start to think about the failures, delays, awkwardness etc. During the night there was no negligence  from organizers, at least visible to the eye a simple citizen.

I do not see sense to tell you about contests, programme and other stuff.  It is better to come and  to see for yourself. I want to say a special thank you to people who did the mood that night and played really dance music – DJ EFA and DJ SUN MONIE. Small pleasures in the form of jelly bears, lollipop and a chocolate cake made ​​necessary sweet atmosphere. So hard not to mention a party host – DMC VILKA. She amused and held in tone all participants of the party.

Elena Burba showed her vision of autumn-winter season on the fourth day of Ukrainian Fashion Week. This collection is a perfect illustration of how not to miss warm days with the clothes. Long skirts and dresses cannot leave indifferent any girl.
